Information on the Power Supply Interruption and Its Impact on SPOLCHEMIE’s Operations

On Friday, July 4, SPOLCHEMIE, like many other entities in the Czech Republic, was affected by a widespread power outage. Shortly after noon, we were forced to shut down production at all facilities and activate our emergency plan designed for such extraordinary situations.

The electricity supply was restored on Friday after 4 p.m. However, full operational recovery was only possible after ensuring a stable supply of process steam from Teplárna Trmice, which became available in the required quality after 7 p.m. The gradual restart of key production units proceeded without major complications and was completed between 9 and 10 p.m. on Friday.

Unfortunately, several additional short-term power outages occurred over the weekend, which negatively affected the restart and stabilization of our production facilities. As a result, we are still dealing with the consequences of the blackout on Monday morning, and production has not yet been fully restored. For this reason, we are currently unable to precisely quantify the total damages.

Throughout the entire emergency, there was no danger to the surroundings or employees – all systems remained under control, and operations were managed in accordance with established safety procedures.
